The Cellars-Hohenort  part of The Collection by Liz McGrath, is located in “Cape Town’s Vineyard”, the historical Constantia Valley on the slopes of Table Mountain. All 52 rooms and suites boast panoramic views of the iconic mountain or over the 9.5 acres of beautifully manicured gardens. The Cellars-Hohenort gardens highlight the history and heritage of this spectacular property.  Camphor trees dating back to Simon van der Stel’s time and the unrivaled rose garden; with more than 2 500 roses within the garden itself.

The different sections of the garden display some of Constantia’s best indigenous flora. From the fresh, epicurean smells of the Herb Garden through to the cool climate of the Fern Walk.  Different seasons reveal the beauty of each garden; from the vibrant greens of the rainy winter season to the colourful blooms in spring, there is always something to see and beauty of the four seasons is uniquely captured, creating seasonally influenced gardens that change from day to day and month to month.

Vistors to the garden may also delight in spotting the resident porcupine and watching the tentative movements of the chameleons, of which there are three colonies at The Cellars-Hohenort as well as the resident ducks.

Other eco-zones within the garden include the hot garden, the rustic garden and the 950 vines on site. These vines are watered by Mother Nature, and maintained by the garden team at The Cellars-Hohenort.

The garden was awarded the highly coverted world-wide Relais & Châteaux Garden trophy in 2010. Regular garden tours are conducted for guests, uncovering the magic of one of the world’s most beautiful privately owned gardens.

There are two award-winning dining experiences at The Cellars-hohenort, the awards winning Greenhouse and The Conservatory.  Another highlight is the newly launched “Low Carb High Tea” available daily at the hotel.
Visitors can also make use of our Fresh Wellness Spa and Hair by Elouise located on the property.
