The South African Mint Floral Theatre

With over 100 years of experience in supplying coins to Africa and the world, we are proud to have The South African Mint as the official sponsor of the Cape Town Flower Show’s 2016 floral theatre.

Visitors will find The South African Mint Floral Theatre showcasing the exquisite world of cut flowers.

There will be curated fixed floral displays depicting the four themes: wedding, gifting, celebration and indigenous.

Hosted in the Bakhuys, you will be inspired by some of the most original floral arrangements by SA’s top floral artists and commercial florists. Relish in the atmosphere whilst enjoying a selection of exclusive wines from the Boschendal range and indulge in gorgeously handcrafted and organic chocolate from Honest Chocolate.

The Bakhuys, situated in the far right hand corner of the Castle of Good Hope, will also play host to the first-ever South African MasterFlorist™ competition. Curated by Alwijn Burger (aka Blomboy) along with fellow judges through a three-stage judging process, the event will be MC’d by floral communications expert Jill Manson and live-streamed in The Food and Drink Garden.

Commemorating the launch of the first ever coloured coins to be struck in SA, The South African Mint is a proud sponsor of Leon Kluge’s ‘Between the Folds’ Show Garden, too.  The new coins feature two endangered flower species – Hermanus Cliff Gladiolus and Blue Disa – and are on display in both Leon’s garden and the floral theatre.
