“Once you start working in the green industry, very little else can satisfy you,” says Paul, who has already enjoyed 15 successful years working in horticulture.
From the moment he started studying for his degree in landscape technology, Paul knew he had the passion and desire to start a landscaping nursery. Today he owns Compass Gardens which offers a full package of services including consulting, installing, training, and even floral art.
Paul has been fortunate to work with many great garden personalities, such as Keith Kirsten, Raymond Hudson, Lynton Johnson, Marion Siebrits, and Jan van Bergen and David Davidson, and helped build the South African stand at The Chelsea Flower Show.
One of Paul’s career highlights was working with Keith Kirsten Horticulture International as he had the opportunity to work on the planning, design, and layout of many national and international exhibition show gardens, including a garden which was awarded the best Relais & Chateaux Garden in the world. He enjoyed the unique opportunity to view and tour some of the finest gardens in the world.
Paul will bring his vibrancy, enthusiasm, and considerable experience and knowledge to the Cape Town Flower Show as the Show Gardens Project Manager.
“The Castle of Good Hope is a wonderful venue to hold the show. With Table Mountain in view, it provides the perfect frame for showcasing a range of wonderful show gardens.”
